There are a lot of factors to consider before committing to a place to work. Below is a list of the Top 10 questions people ask us at The Port Workspaces.

1. WHAT ARE THE SEATING OPTIONS?

Port Workspaces offers a variety of seating options and membership types. Finding the right coworking space begins by asking yourself what you need to work. We provide day passes, a hot desk membership (i.e. a seat at a community table), a dedicated desk, and private offices. For those who don’t need a desk, we offer a community membership which gives members a mailing address for their business as well as a member rate on conference room rentals.

When choosing a seating option, think about what you will need to work effectively. While a hot desk may be ideal for someone who only needs a laptop to work, a graphic designer who needs multiple monitors or has a lot of equipment would likely prefer a dedicated desk because it’s just not practical to have to move that equipment around. 2. WHAT ELSE DO I GET WITH MY DESK?

In addition to your desk, we offer free Wi-Fi and complimentary coffee, tea, beer and kombucha. You also have access to our printing and photocopying services, access to conference rooms, or soundproof phone booths for private phone calls. We also host a number of free events throughout the year. Your membership also includes access to any of our locations.

3.  WHO ARE THE OTHER MEMBERS?

The best coworking spaces are those that have a diverse population. One of the great advantages of a coworking space is that you get a group of colleagues who have skills that you don’t have such easy access to when you’re working out of your home office. It’s like being in a company that has an HR department, a creative department, an accounting department.

Don’t think that just because a coworking space already has a member in your area of business, that you can’t join. The reason this works is that coworking spaces are not places where you are trying to sell your services to other members. 

4. HOW OFTEN WILL I USE THE SPACE?

Your adventurous side may want to slide down our 30' tube (101 Broadway), or you may prefer the nostalgia of working in a modernized 1925 broom factory with the sound of the train chugging through (317 Washington), or you may prefer the serenity of working in our 47,000 square foot building with rooftop lounge overlooking a lake (Kaiser Mall). Whichever you choose, you have access to all our worldwide locations.

Each one of our coworking locations has a different vibe, its own personality. We encourage you to to visit different spaces and look for one that suits your brand and your personal style.

6. WHAT EVENTS DOES THE SPACE OFFER?

We offer free and paid events, workshops, networking gatherings, and happy hours for our members. Ask to see a calendar of events. 

7. DO YOU OFFER A TRIAL PERIOD?

Yes, we do offer a free day-pass for new potential members. 

8. HOW IS THE WI-FI CONNECTION?

We offer solid, high-speed and unlimited Wi-Fi to all our members.

9. WHAT TYPE OF COFFEE IS PROVIDED?

Come and try our coffee for yourself. We're sure it will live up to your caffeine expectations. We also offer free beer and kombucha throughout the day.

Our communities are of utmost importance. From our open concept designs, community kitchens and workspace tables, we encourage interaction to cultivate the feeling our of working in a community.
